LIGER KING gained his first win at Yarmouth yesterday, finally showing everyone what he is capable of. We have always liked him but he was getting increasingly difficult to find his desired trip as jockeys were always coming back with differing feedback. Dropped back to 7f for the first time he looked to hit a flat spot around 2f from home but he kept on digging deep under a strong Marco Ghiani to win by just over 1/2 length.
He is a testament to his owners patience as he has struggled to even make the frame on his last couple of starts and most would have began to lose faith in him. Now we have found his optimum conditions he is hopefully a well handicapped horse heading into the autumn for owners Turf Club and Rathmoy Racing.
