KING OF THE SOUTH backed up his Newcastle win of last month with another course and distance success this afternoon. The 3yo son of Kingman broke well but allowed others to come around him and take the lead. He sailed into the race and it was just a question of when jockey Callum Shepherd decided to press the button. He hit the front a furlong out and pulled clear to win by 2 lengths.
This was a welcome win for the team at home who battled the snow to get all of the horses exercised. The horses remain in good form and we have plenty of horses to keep running on the all weather over the winter.
