Shifting Gold off the mark
on 16 July 2019

Shifting Gold shed her maiden tag at Nottingham this evening in a close finish which saw her just get her head in front on the line.

The leaders went off very fast with the front two running keenly. David Egan found himself shuffled to the back of the field where, at one point, he looked to have too much to do. However, the blistering early pace soon took its toll on the front runners who fell in a heap, allowing those travelling off the pace to challenge.

Shifting Gold, who has been unlucky on previous starts, was able to pick up and came with a nice run down the outside. Timed to perfection, she just got up on the line, scoring by a head.

Congratulations to owners Mr and Mrs Farrant and to the team at home who work hard to keep the horses fit and healthy. The yard has had a frustrating run of seconds so this was a very welcome winner!
