DALRADIAN produced a career best effort to land the feature handicap at Lingfield this afternoon giving the William Knight team their first winner of 2010.
It was a fine training performance by Knight to get the four-year-old horse back to winning ways following a lay-off of 213 days. The son of Dansili was sent off at odds of 9/1 for the 1m 2f contest but victory looked unlikely when jockey Jim Crowley was shuffled to the rear of the field along the back straight. However, Crowley didn't panic and stuck to the inside rail where he got the perfect splits. He produced Dalradian late in the day and the pair went on to score by three-quarters of a length. This was an impressive performance from a potentially improving type who can hopefully build on this his third career win. |
